Innovation for Agriculture and The Royal Agricultural Society of England have appointed David Grint as Chief Executive Officer, as of the 3rd October 2022.

David brings to the organisations a wealth of experience from a broad career across a variety of sectors. Having worked for companies including Bass, Coca-Cola, BBC and Bupa, David has lead strategy, marketing, brand and communication roles.

More latterly, David has worked in the charity sector, providing consultancy for Sue Ryder, Nuffield Health and Self-Management UK.

David was also a partner in a fresh food wholesale business which operated across the UK providing dairy, meat & poultry and fresh produce to care homes, schools and hospitality.

Commenting on his appointment, David states “I’m delighted to be joining RASE and IfA at such a pivotal time for the agricultural sector.  Both organisations have a huge role to play in the future and I look forward to contributing to that future”.

Following David’s appointment, Roly Taplin the current Chief Operating Officer for RASE and IfA will step down following a transition period. Roly has led the organisations through a thorough strategic development process and has overseen the progression of the 2022 Pig & Poultry Fair, one of the first large in-person trade events since the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Commenting on the announcement, Chairman of the RASE, Philip Gready stated “The UK agricultural industry is entering a period of significant change and independent organisations such as the RASE and Innovation for Agriculture will be needed now more than ever. We look forward to seeing both organisations continue to grow from strength to strength under David’s guidance”
